How did you meet?

With social websites being very popular, we actually met online April 2011. We quickly exchanged numbers and the rest is history!

How long did you date?

We dated for exactly 3 years before he proposed.

How did he propose?

He proposed on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Every Wednesday, Frankie and I go out to eat sushi! In early April, I mentioned to Frankie that Sushi Night on April 16 would be 3 years since our very first date! But I didn’t really think much of it.

On Monday, April 14, I asked Frankie did he want me to pick up take-out sushi or were we going to meet there. He mentioned that since it was three years since our first date, we would go somewhere different. So, Frankie made dinner reservations for Morton’s Steakhouse. But before we left for dinner, Frankie got down on one knee and asked “Will you marry me?!” I was completely surprised! After catching my breath, finally saying yes and all the tears, we went to dinner. Our waiter at Morton’s was the best! We took pictures and enjoyed a complimentary dessert. What a great way to celebrate three years!

When did you know he was the one?

I knew Frankie was the one after we acted out an entire scene from the Martin TV show! It was so refreshing to be with someone that was just as silly as I was.

What is the cutest thing he has done for you without you asking?

I love when he sends me love songs randomly during the day! He always knows how to make me smile.

What is something you love about him that has completely changed your life?

I really love Frankie’s honesty. He has really encouraged me to be the best version of myself. And I’m forever grateful!

What part of wedding planning made you crazy?

Wedding planning wasn’t crazy for me. I didn’t allow myself to become stressed out. I actually enjoyed most of the planning process. We did have a small issue with printing the wedding invitations but we quickly found another vendor and it turned out great!

What part of wedding planning could you not live without?

I couldn’t have lived without a wedding planner! That was a must. I also couldn’t live without having an intimate dress shopping experience with my Mom and two best friends. It was really important to share that special time with those ladies.

What was your first thought the day after your engagement?

OMG, we are really getting married?! LOL

What was your favorite part about the ceremony?

My favorite part about the ceremony was saying our vows. I love how our pastor personalized our ceremony. It truly was reflective of our relationship and journey.

What was your favorite part about the wedding?

My favorite part of the wedding reception was our delicious food and dancing the night away with my new husband. We really had so much fun partying with our guests!

Did you do any DIY? If so, what?

Yes, we DIY’d a few items. My mom and I put together the guest favors and welcome bags. We also had a lot of fun making our personalized photo booth props.

What is your favorite part about being married to each other?

My favorite part about being married is waking up next to my God given life partner every day!

What did you learn about each other through the wedding planning process?

We learned that we both wanted to keep things simple! It was important to us that we have a small, intimate wedding with our family and closest friends.

What southern traditions did you do at your wedding?

Growing up Southern Baptist, it was important for us to include taking Communion during our ceremony.

Did you have any southern food on your menu? If so what and why?

We didn’t have any special southern foods on the menu but we did have a specialty cocktail that we named Timmons Uptown Sangria to highlight our beloved Uptown Charlotte.

What southern decor did you include in your wedding?

We love our Southern city of Charlotte! We carried out our city theme by incorporating the Charlotte skyline in our invitations, table numbers and other wedding stationary.

What did you love about being a southern bride?

Being a Southern Bride, hospitality is very important to me. I loved that having a small, intimate wedding allowed Frankie and I to interact with all of our guests.
