Are you a recent college grad or budding entrepreneur? If you want to invest in yourself and your professional career as a #blacksouthernbelle be sure to invest in professional headshots.
Beyond being another excuse to get dolled up and shop, your headshots are a must in the age of social media and the Internet and can mean the difference between getting a job or landing a client. Today we have some insight from South Carolina-based, professional photographer Kristen Gordon of Lavish AMoments Photography. Read her reasons today for getting headshots and be sure to share them with us after yours are done!
1. Present a professional appearance – This is an obvious reason. How do you want to grab your audience/clients’ attention? AYou want to have a great and memorable first impression!
2. You will use your headshots for the majority if not all branding and marketing purposes. You are the face of your brand and business.
3. Stay up-to-date so your audience and clients can feel like they’ve known you throughout your journey. AYou should not still be using headshots you’ve taken years ago if that’s no longer how you look. AMaybe you cut your hair, changed your hair color or rocking a new pair of frames? Show it off!
4. It shows confidence! When working with a professional photographer, we try to learn our clients and be sure to make them feel comfortable in front of the camera. ABy doing so, you can truly capture their personality. Confidence is key! It’s inviting and attracts more people to your business.
5. Investment – Yes, it’s an investment but it’s absolutely worth it! You cannot expect someone to invest in your brand/business if you’re not willing to invest in yourself. Trust me, it makes a world of difference when you have great professional images to reflect as your brand.

I love this! Not only because the pictures are of me (shameless plug) but because every word of it is why I did a professional branding session. Kristen captured aspects that I wanted to portray in my business. I’m a Mompreneur. I wanted pictures that reflected my personality as well as my businesses. I love it. Thank you so much Kristen for being the most professional photographer. You have such an eye!
