5 Tips for Dressing for a Southern Wedding
According to Chloe “When planning your attire for a wedding always consider the time of day. For an afternoon wedding, structured sheaths or the always figure flattering fit and flare dresses are appropriate. Have fun with a bold floral print or a dress with tasteful embellishments.”
If you’re like me, you always find yourself freezing at some point during the wedding reception. A shawl is the perfect traditional choice; however, consider a bolero or a satin/silk kimono as an alternative.
Yes, you can wear black, but remember that your wardrobe should reflect that this is a celebratory event. I would not recommend black for afternoon weddings. Choose black dresses with feminine details such as flounces or ruffles. Black dresses constructed with lace are also a fabulous and appropriate option.
Leave the large totes and casual handbags at home. Opt for a clutch or small top handle bag. As a mom, I know you’re going to want to have your cell phone close by so you can check on the kids; there are some fabulous special occasion appropriate clutches out there that have room for all of your essentials, including your cell phone.
