How did you meet?
David and I met through our co-ed business fraternity (Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity) in 2008 when I was a pledge and he was an active.
When did you know he was the one?
I knew he was the one when I had called text him jokingly to come pick me up from my job because I didn’t have an umbrella and it was pouring and the location from my job to my resident hall was very far. He surprisingly came to pick me up, I was not expecting him to at all. That showed me how selfless and caring he was.
What is something you love about him that has completely changed your life?
When I graduated from college in 2012 with my undergraduate degree, I had taken the responsibility to raise my nephew while attending graduate school and working full time. At this time we were only dating, not engaged. For him to help me raise my at the time 16-month old nephew spoke for itself. He could have left me stating he is not ready for that type of responsibility.
What part of wedding planning made you crazy?
EVERYTHING!! Mainly the expense.
What part of wedding planning could you not live without?
Simply Yours Events help me with being more creative. There was no way I could have saved as much money as I did for my save the dates without her help and also for the flowers for the bridesmaids, maid of honor, honorary brides, and flower girls.
What was your first thought the day after your engagement?
We were on a cruise so my thought was how do I let everyone know I just got engaged? I didn’t have an internet package to post on Facebook and on Instagram or even make a phone call to all my friends and extended family.
Did you do any DIY? If so, what?
Bridesmaids, Maid of Honor and Flower girl flowers. Also, the Save the Dates.
