How did you meet?
Tunji and I met in Tallahassee at the Governor’s Square Mall we were teenagers. Tunji was a complete gentleman, he respectfully asked for number and if it were ok to call me.
How long have you dated?
Tunji and I became a couple in May of 2008, we have been partners ever since ( 7 years ).
How did he propose?
Tunji proposed at our anniversary dinner, he worked with the staff at Sweet Pete’s to make the night special. We had a private, intimate section blocked off just for us. We went on a tour of the candy factory, just as our dessert arrived Tunji got down on one knee and asked me to be with him forever. I said YES of course.
When did you know he was the one?
Tunji has been the one for me at all the appropriate times throughout our relationship. Tunji has been my number one since the beginning.
What is the cutest thing he has done for you without you asking?
The cutest thing that Tunji does for me without asking would be making sure I’m not too hot or cold in the car. If I put my hand up to fan myself Tunji will immediately turn the air down, or if I shiver a little he will immediately turn the heat up.
What is something you love about him that has completely changed your life?
Tunji is a kindhearted, gentle person that is just who he is. When I’m with him things are just pleasant, calm and peaceful. As long as we have been together I have been secured. Being in love with Tunji has completed me, now we have forever to just be.
What part of wedding planning is making you crazy? Â
One part of wedding planning that is making me crazy would be the deadlines. It’s so hard to be creative and explore all of my options with parameters of deadlines and budgets.
What part of wedding planning can you not live without?
The one thing I can not live without during the process of wedding planning is my mother. She has been so helpful in every aspect, I would be a mess if it were not for her.
What was your first thought the day after your engagement?
My first thought after the day after my engagement I thought , “I need to get my pins together on Pinterest.”
What did you love about taking engagement pictures?
I loved working with creative photographers, that was the best part of taking our engagement photos.
Who did you tell first about your engagement?
The first person I told about my engagement was my mother, I called her the next day and sent pictures.
Are you used to the ring yet?
I am not used to the ring yet, I’m actually not a ring person. It’s growing on me, I always notice when  it’s not there.
How many times do you accidentally say boyfriend instead of fiance in a day?
Occasionally, I accidentally say boyfriend instead of fiance. I guess it depends on the setting, Tunji will always be my boyfriend. I like to think of it as if I’m adding new names to describe our relationship instead of replacing names. Â
