We love celebrating southern weddings here at #blacksouthernbelle For a new couple, half of the fun of planning a wedding are the bridal registry gifts to start their new life. It is often not something a couple things too hard about but is so important. As someone who put one too many baking items I never use as well as a smoker that sits on display, you want to take this list seriously and plan out the essentials a true southern hostess will need. At the very least pick out the items that will impress your mother 🙂
Today we have a few tips from the founders of Snowe, Rachel Cohen and Andres Modak on home essentials for every newylwed.
One: Take advantage of spring and summer’s warm weather by entertaining as a couple on your patio or in your backyard. Use a carafe (like this one) to elegantly serve everything from refreshing sweet tea to mint juleps al fresco, while keeping you prepared for any occasion. (Sweet Tea = Heaven in our books:)
Two: Newlywed couples have no shortage of celebratory moments. Snowe’s champagne flutes come in a set of 2 and are made in Italy from titanium-reinforced lead-free crystallized glass, making them highly durable.  In other words, don’t just toast to special occasions, but turn your first year of marriage into a daily celebration, since these flutes are dishwasher-friendly! (Because Southern Biscuit Brunch tastes better with Mimosas and Champagne 🙂
Three: The highest quality things are better when you use them every day – not when they’re stored away for special occasions.  Snowe’s Egyptian cotton percale sheet sets are a dream thanks to 500 thread count linens hand-finished in Italy. These sheets only get more comfortable with time, in all the right ways – just like the best marriages. Their generous sizing makes them adaptable to any mattress depth.
Four: Snowe’s Serving Bowl is an essential piece when building your home. As is the case with all of Snowe’s dinnerware, this versatile bowl which is made of Limoges porcelain, can be used to serve grits in style. Its counterpart, a lower, wider design, serves up everything from corn on the cob to citrus salad without stealing your dinnerware’s thunder.
Five: Southern hospitality is admired globally. With all the entertaining you will be doing as a couple, make sure to register for hostess essentials like round and rectangular platters paired with Snowe’s Host Set serving utensils. Whether you’re serving deviled eggs or blueberry pie, this clean, timeless serveware elevate any dish.
We will be sure to add this advice for our next HBCU homecoming tailgate or post debutante celebration. And if you are in Charleston, make sure to drop by their Pop Up Shop! Details below:
