HBCU-Themed Dinner Party for Back to School

HBCU-Themed Dinner Party for Back to School

Whether you are starting the new year with your kids or heading back to grad school or celebrating new beginnings, this time of year is a time to celebrate whatever you are accomplishing in life. As a Howard University alum, one of my favorite television shows on earth is A Different World and I adored the character Whitley Gilbert. In honor of this iconic show and the start of the school year, we are hosting an HBCU Themed Dinner Party for Back To School.

Get some ideas on how to plan your own and be sure to share with us on social media using the hashtag #blacksouthernbelle to show your HBCU-Themed Dinner Party for Back to School

Custom Gift Bags

What better way to celebrate your guests than with great gift bags. Stationery and monograms are the perfect duos for any Black Southern Belle dinner party favors.

Clip Boards

“Relax, relate, release” is the perfect mantra to start off new beginnings. These are perfect guest favors to encourage accomplishing goals and also make great ways to display party decor and can double as decor in your home office after the party.

Personal Thank You Cards

No need to wait to write thank you notes for your guests, get that task done before the party and use them as both your place cards and decor. I love using an art-inspired collection as my signature stationery for dinner parties.

Wine Favors:

Who doesn’t love wine? Summer is a great time to share some of your favorite rose or wine spritzers with your guests for them to sample at the table or to bring home to enjoy on their own time.

Specialty Cocktails:

What better way to show your guests you appreciate them than with a specialty cocktail. Break out your fine china and your favorite rose paired with fresh summer fruits. I chose to create my cocktails with inspiration from one of the original Black Southern Belles, Whitley Gilbert!
