Love art and have a huge collection or looking to get started with your first few pieces? We have the list you need to get inspired. With help from Jonell Logan, Independent Curator and Founder of 300 Arts Project we have found the 10 Southern Black Women Artists to Watch. Jonell is a curator based in Charlotte, NC and her organization, 300 Arts Project has taken the charge to “support increased arts engagement, education, and appreciation through the presentation and investigation of contemporary art.”
According to Jonell: “Make no mistake – the Southern contemporary art scene is thriving. Women of color are one group of artists that are directly impacting American Art today. There are hundreds of amazing artists who are transforming materials to make work that is beautiful, socially relevant, or pushing the boundaries of creativity. Here are 10 black women artists from the South who are making their mark.”
