1. Have a budget in mind that you would like to spend. I tell my clients all the time to always have a price range in mind on what they would like to spend on their landscape project(s). This way you can be realistic with yourself and won’t be surprised at the estimate you receive from the designer or contractor.
2. Be open to suggestions. When people see HGTV they forget that it’s TV. Projects take time and you definitely need to be open to design ideas. You may see something that you want, but it may not fit your budget and / or property.
3. Be patient. Remember designs and creativity takes time. There is a process to make sure that designers and contractors try to give you as close to what you envision. Designers and contractors are taking your vision and bringing it to life.
