I’ve always had a love of pretty packages with all the trimmings. With the holiday season upon us, I thought I’d share with you some gift wrapping ideas.
First, gather your supplies. You’ll need a smooth surface, a pen, sharp scissors, and double-sided tape. Double-sided tape is readily available and the finished product is crisp and sleek. We never want to see unsightly tape on our pretty packages.
Raid your local home and garden store. Grab holly or ivy leaves and tie those on your packages. Use a metallic gel pen to write the recipient’s name on the leaves. These packages tend to smell nice too.
Every gift needs a bow, ribbon or twine just something to complete the look. Grab some fabulous trim and spruce up all your holiday gifts. A simple trick is to dress your gifts with toppers such as Christmas ornaments and silk poinsettias leaves. As an added bonus after the gifts are unwrapped the toppers can be easily reused.
For those awkwardly shaped gifts just grab a festive gift bag. You then want to gather coordinating tissue paper (always open each sheet completely), line the bag, place the gift in the bag, then bunch one or two sheets of paper to cover the gift, add a gift tag and you have a beautifully wrapped gift.
