I live and breathe antique shopping, especially in the South. Nothing warms my heart more except maybe losing 5 pounds before homecoming season. My poor husband is my go to shopping buddy but yesterday, I took a trip on my own to tour some antique shopping in the lowcountry. My first stop in Mount Pleasant, SC and it did not disappoint.
Here are a few of my favorite things I like to look for in antique stores and what I found on this trip:
China!!!!: What BSB doesn’t love a good China set. Everyone has a mom, aunt or grandmother with an immaculate china collection that has never been used. It about 5 years, I will be that women. This store had more than my heart could handle and I can’t wait to build my collecting.
Dining Room Furniture: My poor husband has learned the hard way that I believe in a formal dining room and I believe in staging it at all times, even if I am the only who will see it give or take a few dinner parties. A dining room is the staple of southern home and I won’t live without it.
Black Art: Seeing as how I have 90+ pieces and counting of art, I can’t live without some good black art shopping during an antique trip and this one caught my eye.
Southern Food Books: Although I constantly struggle with dieting and my love southern food, you can never have too many southern cook books in your home. These books were the original Pinterest and are a requirement for any southern coffee table.
Furniture with Print Fabrics: I love a good print. I think they belong everywhere, couches, chairs, even as art. Prints just make any room happy. I found this super cool outdoor furniture set with some fun prints. Nothing like enjoying the outdoors with a good printed fabric. Only thing would better is with a mimosa in hand 🙂
Below is a full gallery of some of the fun things I saw. Needless to say I will be back and my bank account will surely become friendly with this store. If you are ever in Mt. Pleasant, SC, please be sure to check out Antiques Market
