For practicality, what are some essentials in your home office that you have incorporated as a part of your office decor?
Dr. Cuttino – I actually have two home offices. One for my law firm and one for my travel agency. I have incorporated the Constitution into my home office and it’s essential. It’s easy for me to look at this document as a reference if I am unable to recall a certain Article.
What are the most personal elements in your office? How do you express your heritage through your office decor?
Dr. Cuttino – In both of my offices I have the African American Heritage Bible on display as well as pictures of the Civil Rights Movement and our fight for justice.
How does your office reflect both your personality and professional career?
Dr. Cuttino – I love all things history. The pieces in my law office, such as the Constitution of the United States are all historical pieces. Any given day in my office you will find flowers and fresh plants. I love flowers as they put me in a cheerful mood. You will find pieces of me all over my law office.
In my travel agency office, you will find all things Caribbean. I love the Caribbean. Caribbean life me please! I have different Caribbean flags in that office, books about the Caribbean, you name it I have it.
How does your office specifically reflect the type of law you practice?
My law office doesn’t just have the traditional pieces you would see in a law office such
as the scales of justice. It contains images of the Black Lives Matter Movement, which reflects a new dawn in the legal profession. For the first time in history the WORLD came together and said NO MORE ILLEGAL KILLINGS OF BLACK AND BROWN MEN AND WOMEN. I am a millennial. We will not be silenced. So many of the lawyers who came before me had to be fearful when standing for what was right, in standing for racial equality. That fear is now gone. The fear of offending other lawyers because you were too radical is now gone. The pieces in my office reflect that sentiment.
What is the most effective way for someone to start thinking about decorating their office regardless of their business?
I think a person should start by thinking about the colors they would like in their office and what they want their space to reflect. Regarding online or in-person resources, what are your favorite resources to use when designing a stylish workspace?
My favorite resource to use when designing a stylish workspace is my good friend and brand manager Roger Brasley lol. Not only is he a celebrity stylist but he is amazing when it comes to interior design. I am a lawyer by nature and interior design doesn’t come as easy to me. I can tell you what I want in a space, but Roger can visualize and bring it to life in a way that makes your head spin.
