How did you meet?
As kids in church
How long have you dated?
Off and on for 10 years (2005 & 2008). Never was an official couple until 2014.
How did he propose?
He took me to the location where we had our first date in 2005 at the lake. We were walking as though we were headed to a restaurant and then we made a slight turn towards the lighthouse. He stopped and hugged me and we looked out towards the sunset over the lake and said “Do you remember where our first date was?” I replied with “no” and turned my head back to look at him and about ¼ of the way noticed a photographer taking pics from beside the lighthouse. I screamed because it immediately triggered in my head as to what was happening and he got down on his knee and said some words that I never heard because I was crying and having a moment. He opened the box and I saw that fabulous ring glistening in my eye and he said “Will you marry me?” and I said, YES! I look up and my mom’s voice was behind me, I turned around and there she was with a load of other family members.
When did you know he was the one?
The moment he came and pinched me on my back after church on the day we ran into each other after not seeing him for years. The moment our eyes locked back up, I knew it was history from there.
What is the cutest thing he has done for you without you asking?
PRAYED FOR ME
What is something you love about him that has completely changed your life?
Leon has the most admirable unconditional love I have ever experienced. There are no limitations on his love and what he will do for me. His sacrifices stretch so far as if I am already his wife. He reminds me daily that I don’t have to worry about the hurtful things that have damaged me from my past.
What part of wedding planning is making you crazy?
Wedding Dress shopping. I want my dress to make that boy faint and I am on a mission to find it. But its far from easy.
What part of wedding planning can you not live without?
a wedding planner!!!
What was your first thought the day after your engagement?
OMG! I am about to be a WIFE!!!! I jumped up and ran and grabbed that pretty little diamond out of it’s box. 🙂
What did you love about taking engagement pictures?
Being able to display who we are in front of the camera. We love to laugh and joke and to be able to do that and have the world to see it was an amazing feeling
Who did you tell first about your engagement?
The friends of Facebook and Instagram. All of my close friends and family was already in attendance and waiting for me in the restaurant after the proposal took place.
Are you used to the ring yet?
YES!
How many times do you accidentally say girlfriend instead of fiance in a day?
All of the time and he QUICKLY corrects me.
