How did you meet?
Daniel and I met at my son’s pee-wee football game in November 2013.His best friend’s son and my son played on the same football team
How long have you dated?
We dated for about 1 year and a half before he proposed
How did he propose?
He proposed at exactly 18 months to the day we first met. We met on November 9th and he proposed on May 9th. Daniel had his cousin lure me on the Pedestrian Bridge in Downtown Nashville, for “creative direction” for a supposed photo and video shoot. When I got to the top of the Bridge, my entire family was present along with our friends, with signs spelling out the words “Will you marry me”? Daniel was behind me, already on one knee. I was ECSTATIC when he asked me to be his wife.
When did you know he was the one?
I Knew Daniel was the one, 6 months into our relationship when he told me not only did he love me, but he had prayed for me everyday, hoping that God would continue to bless our relationship. That meant the world to me.
What is the cutest thing he has done for you without you asking?
On Valentine’s Day 2014, Daniel sent me on a treasure hunt to all of the places around the city where we had dates. Each location had an accompanying gift as well as candy. Sweetest thing ever!
What is something you love about him that has completely changed your life?
I love Daniel’s perseverance. In the last year, my fiance has overcome some of the biggest of life’s barriers, yet his faith coupled with his fighting spirit is beyond admirable. It’s not often that engaged couples experience their “for worse” before their “for better”. This man makes me strive to be a better woman and future wife every day.
What part of wedding planning is making you crazy?
Yikes! The decor is making me psycho. I am a perfectionist, but tell myself everyday that in 5 years I won’t even remember what the details were, only that the day was blissful.
What part of wedding planning can you not live without?
The BEST part of planning was deciding on a dress. I could absolutely not live without this dress! ha!
What was your first thought the day after your engagement?
My first thought was if I wanted a destination wedding or a local wedding.
What did you love about taking engagement pictures?
I loved taking indoor pictures at our wedding venue and scenic outdoor pics that captured both of our personalities. our photographer helped execute our vision with a mix of sultry and fun poses.
Who did you tell first about your engagement?
I created a mass text and texted all of my friends who weren’t present at the proposal.
Are you used to the ring yet?
I am finally used to the ring! I’ve developed a nervous “tic” where I twirl it on my finger when I’m in conversation.
How many times do you accidentally say boyfriend instead of fiance in a day?
I’ve only said “boyfriend” accidentally once and that was to the caterer, in my fiance’s presence. OOPS!
