Large furniture can completely transform a room. When choosing what furniture pieces will get the most attention, you should take a few design rules into account. Below, Lisa Rickert, founder of AVE Home, has some great tips for you!

1.   Decide whether or not this piece is going to be a focal point for the room. If so, select furniture with contrasting colors to the walls behind it, or have some fun with the hardware. 

2.       Before you buy a piece, make sure that it is of good quality and construction as you’ll want to keep it for a long time.

3.       Make sure that the furniture you select has ample storage so that you’re not giving up valuable space in the room
