The Black Artists + Designers Guild (BADG) is a non-profit organization that represents independent Black artists, makers, and designers across various art and design disciplines. This fall the Black Artists + Designers announced their inaugural incubator project, the Obsidian Virtual Concept House.
The Black Artists + Designers Guild invited twenty-three of their members to create spaces celebrating Black excellence and culture through exploration and cutting-edge design while highlighting Black family identities’ multiplicity. The futuristic dwelling will envision a home set in 2025 illustrated through virtual exploration in partnership with ELLE Decor, House Beautiful, Town & Country and VERANDA, Hearst Magazine’s Luxury & Design Collection.
The twenty- three Creators and BADG members include b-framework, Cheryl R. Riley, Cheryl Umbles Interior Design, Eclectic Home, Everick Brown Design, Interior Obsession, Ishka Designs, Laura Hodges Studio, Leyden Lewis Design Studio, LH.Designs, Linda Allen Designs, Joy Street Design, Kiyonda Powell Design Studio, Malene Barnett, Marie Burgos Design, McLean and Tircuit, Me and General Design, Mitchell Black, Nikki Klugh Design Group, OI Studio, Revamp Interior Design, Shakoor Interiors, and Studio Cooke John.
We are excited to see how they celebrate and share Black culture through this innovative project when it launches in Winter 2021.
