Black Southern Belles all have those few online brands that we buy from almost every other week. We always go to their site to browse and end up finding items that we didn’t know we needed until we saw them. This “add to cart” syndrome is easy because of the online presence of these brands, but just imagine your favorite brand getting a store front location in a city near you. Sounds like a dream right?
Well Southern Belles we are no longer dreaming. Just for many of us who love jewelry and accessories, the vibrant color online brand of Charleston, SC, The Tiny Tassel has now announced the grand opening of a storefront location for our shopping needs.
The Tiny Tassel Storefront Grand Opening
On Saturday, March 20th The Tiny Tassel will host their grand opening celebration in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood in downtown Charleston. From Monday-Saturday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, beginning March 15th, The Tiny Tassel clients, shoppers, and newcomers can shop for items ranging from hand-made jewelry to clothing and other fun accessories.
Creator of The Tiny Tassel: Mimi Striplin
On 46th Spring Street, Unit B, in Charleston, SC, will be where you will be able to find Mimi Striplin the creator of this business and her statement pieces. Before the store front idea came to Mimi, she was just a Black Southern Belle with ideas and passion.
As a child, Mimi received a pair of earrings as a birthday gift from her sister and this is what sparked her interest to put her own twist on jewelry. Therefore, Mimi took to making tassels. Even though this started as a just a creative outlet for this Black Southern Belle, it evolved into a jewelry, clothing and accessories brand based in Charleston, SC that Southern Belles near and far support.
Storefront Feature Brands
Along with tassels created by-hand, bright colors and classical prints, and also garments handmade by her mother, The Tiny Tassel store will also carry hand-made items from other local Black Women-Owned businesses including: Salt & Stem Flowers, BR Design Co Motherland Essentials, Moon-Seed, Moon Glow Candle Co. and Escape Haven Co.
The Tiny Tassel store front location will see much success because of these other Black Southern Belles. Also, with the help of Seersucker Cottage for interior design, Megan Carn for the in-store murals, Sawdust and Sweetgrass for the interior builds, and the building manager Guest House Charleston the store will be inviting and encourage cheerful and positive vibes when partaking in a shopping splurge.
COVID-19 Safety Precautions at The Tiny Tassel
This Black Woman-Owned business, The Tiny Tassel, is excited to open on the block of Spring Street, and will be taking the necessary COVID-19 precautions to continue the protection of the Charleston community and traveling boutique shoppers. Wearing face coverings and controlling the number of shoppers is key to The Tiny Tassel store front location and is what you can expect when you’re about to shop.
