Black Southern Belle announces new Heritage Series to share cultural traditions of Black Southern Belle’s around the country
WALTERBORO, SC (December 18, 2019) – Black Southern Belle celebrates and shares the cultures of Black Southern Belle’s across the country through their new Heritage Series. The Heritage Series will focus on current and former Southern dwellers by showcasing their culture through entertaining and food. Each series will focus on one or more Southerners, celebrating how they entertain for family, friends, or clients by highlighting dishes that represent their roots and heritage. The series is captured through photography, videography, and interviews.
Hosted in the home of Black Southern Belle founder, Michiel Perry, the first series highlights Lowcountry entertaining during the holidays. Three female chefs; Sameka Jenkins and Emma Cromedy of Carolima’s Lowcountry Cuisine and Gina Willis of “What’s Gina Cooking?” created dishes that represented their heritage, love for cooking, and entertaining during the holidays.
Sameka Jenkins:
Sameka Jenkins is the founder and chef of Carolima’s Lowcountry Cuisine, a catering company specializing in and celebrating Gullah cuisine.
Emma Cromedy:
Emma Cromedy is the pastry chef for Carolima’s Lowcountry Cuisine, a catering company specializing in and celebrating Gullah cuisine and sister to founder Sameka Jenkins.
Gina Willis:
Gina Willis is the owner of “What’s Gina Cooking?” a personal chef putting a new spin on Lowcountry cooking.
