How did you meet?
The number one dating site in America Match.com.
How long have you dated?
We dated two years and six months before getting engaged.
How did he propose?
We arrive home from shopping. I was in the opposite room. Joshua was in the kitchen pacing back and forth. I soon returned to the kitchen area. With the help of two surveillance camera angles, Joshua was able to capture my reaction to his proposal.
When did you know he was the one?
Our third date. We attended an event in Durham, North Carolina. Joshua held me in his arms and said “Is it to early to say I love you?” He came to visit me every weekend until he moved to the same city.
What is the cutest thing he has done for you without you asking?
Our second Thanksgiving together. Joshua made a menus checklist on a piece of paper. It listed everything we were making. The title said “Puffin and Sweet Muffins Thanksgiving Dinner” with a funny looking happy face. I still have the paper.
What is something you love about him that has completely changed your life?
Our health is very important. Joshua has an indoor garden using aquaponics to grow vegetables. It’s very impressive. Joshua has a morning routine of making kale smoothies for us everyday, followed by a 10 a.m. “I love you” message in Google Chat. I have become more health-conscious thanks to Joshua. My eating habits have changed for the better which has help with my weight loss of 10 lbs.
What part of wedding planning is making you crazy?
Nothing. Joshua and I believe in eliminating all the negativity. We have fired vendors and dismissed several wedding party members with no guilt. This has been a positive experience. I have zero stress. As an artist and visual designer I believe in providing all my vendors and planners with the following: several mood boards with color swatches, my own personalized sketches and lots of communication. There are giraffes dying in Africa.
What part of wedding planning can you not live without?
My wedding planner, my mood boards, and personally sketches.
What was your first thought the day after your engagement?
Lets take ring photos!!! Joshua is a former photographer.
What did you love about taking engagement pictures?
Bringing props. We got to take photos with Joshua’s motorcycle. So much fun.
Who did you tell first about your engagement?
My best friend Rebecca
Are you used to the ring yet?
Yes. I love my engagement ring.
How many times do you accidentally say girlfriend instead of fiancé in a day?
I stopped saying it maybe eight months ago.
