Oyster Selections: First decide what kind of oysters you’d like to serve. Local Clusters are the most popular. However, there are lots of options including singles and oysters from other regions.

Planning Timeline: We suggest planning an oyster roast at least one month in advance. That gives the caterer time to place the order with the local supplier to ensure you receive the oysters needed for your guests.

Weather: Oyster roasts are most fun outside, however you can host inside depending on the weather conditions. Have a tent , tables and chairs.

Cutlery and Flatware: Oyster knives are a must! Gone are the days of using butter knives out of the house. It’s dangerous and it ruins your China! Lol!

Catering Expertise: Be sure to have your caterer bring back up oysters in case your guests eat more than you anticipated.  Typically you would pay them after the event.  A bushel of local oysters will feed 4-6 guests.
