School is back in session and the class of 2023 is here. One of the most memorable experiences of college life is moving into your dorm. You are nervous and so are your parents (maybe even more so) If you are like me, you spent all summer finding things to decorate your dorm with and that tradition has not changed. Today we are featuring a North Carolina A&T dorm that was designed for the beautiful niece of North Carolina-based interior designer, Don Ricardo Massenburg Jr., of Design Inkredible LLC. Check out this Modern Preppy Style at North Carolina A&T and be sure to share images of your dorm decor as well using the hashtag #blacksouthernbelle
HBCU Dorm Decor: Modern Preppy Style at NC A&T
Wallpaper: Although you can paint the walls of your dorm, doesn’t mean you can’t make them stand out with steel and pick easy to remove wallpaper. we love this Gingham, black and white accent wall used in this dorm room.
Unique Art: Whether you choose one large piece or a collection of your favorite art or photographs, unique art is the perfect way to add personality to your room and a great gift to ask of your family as you start your journey of adulthood and college life.
Mixed Patterns: Although dorms are small, don’t be afraid to mix patterns. We love the use of polka dots, gingham, and stripes in this comfy space.
Layered Bedding: Even though you only have a twin size bed, it is perfectly okay to add layers with pillows, throws, and various linen styles for a unique and collected dorm room look.
