Holiday Heritage: Black Santa’s to Add to Your collection

Holiday Heritage: Black Santa’s to Add to Your collection

Do you remember growing up and hearing stories about Santa dropping off gifts for Christmas? Or do you recall trying to stay up to catch Santa drop in at your home? If you remember any of these, then you understand exactly how important Santa is to our Christmas holiday and if you are a Black Southern Belle, then you should know the emphasis we add on spreading knowledge about Black Santa’s.

Black Santa’s were not always tradition. In history, finding an African American Santa figurine or piece of art was unfamiliar or very much rare. But as time moves forward, improvements are made to the stereotypical “norm”. Now, more Black Southern Belles and Black Southern Beaus have begun creating art that resonates with African American culture. From black Jesus images to black Santa artwork and decor items, African Americans have taken the initiative to produce items that can be shared with our children and even pieces of work that we will forever hold dear to our heart.

Today, I am going to share Black Santa Figurines you should add to your collection.

The Jolly Christmas Shop has a beautiful Santa figurine. Covered in a beige coat with fluffy fur Santa is seen holding our three most favorite Christmas items; a Christmas Tree, present, and Merry Christmas stocking. This item will be placed perfectly on your bookcase shelf.

Need to add some reality to your milk and cookie stories for the kids, then the Merry Bake Sale holiday figurine is a great addition to your home. Never have to explain the importance of Santa milk and cookies if you have this collectable around.

Rooftop Picnic

Another Christmas decor item or collectable you should add to your collection is the Rooftop figurine. This product provided by “It’s A Black Thang” is ideal to place beside the fire place where we all await for Santa to arrive.

Santa With His List

We always remind our kids of the naughty and nice list and this figurine is one that will reinforce your teachings. Whether it’s for decor or a behavior reminder, this Black Santa decor item is a must-have for any Black Southern Belle.

Black Santas are items every Southern household should have and these four are some collectable each of you invest in. Let’s keep the Black Santa tradition alive and encourage the norm of Black Santas.
