Hosting a lasg minute holiday party but don’t feel like cooking? Outsourcing to a caterer is a great option. For my last-minute holiday party, I partnered with Hamby Catering to curate a menu full of Lowcountry Holiday Appetizers. This list is a perfect starting point for any holiday party menu and is full of southern classics for any diet.
Lowcountry Holiday Appetizers for Your Holiday Party
Farm Board: A great farm board is a perfect addition to a holiday table. Adding some light options are a perfect way to balance all those holiday sweets and cocktails. I especially love heirloom tomatoes and pickled okra on a farm board, perfect lowcountry farm staples.
Charcuterie Board: As the granddaughter of a hog farmer, I am all about a charcuterie board with choice meats, including hams, salamais and thick cut bacon. Chow chow and boiled peanut accent a Lowcountry appetizer menu perfectly.
Tea Sandwiches: You can’t have a southern holiday party without great tea sandwiches. From pimento cheese to shrimp salad sandwiches, these are perfect to pair with your favorite local wines and light cocktails.
Deviled Eggs: If you are ever trying to find me during a party, I am probably hiding by the deviled eggs. Nothing says happiness like a deviled egg. It is the perfect southern appetizer and just has to be on the menu.
Fruit Tray: Not looking to fully indulge with desserts? A fresh fruit tray is a healtier option for those skipping the dessert table those year. They also make great garnishes to cheese and desserts you do opt to indulge in.
