Hi yaall! Iam Alana Frailey, an interior designer and unabashed Christmas season enthusiast. I own Stash of Panache, an interior design firm in Houston, Texas. Hereas how I use a three step process to decorate my home for the Holidays:
Re-style small spaces with Holiday decor
I re-style shelves, tables, and cabinets with Holiday decor, from miniature tree forms to reindeer figurines and garlands. Intentionally styling these small spaces for the Holidays creates a cohesive feeling in your space. A quick and easy way to re-style for the Holidays is to add ornaments to decorative trays.
Layer decor
Layering elements is a staple in my design technique and it continues into my Holiday decor.
I like to add decorative pieces under my Christmas trees, like smaller tree forms and large ornaments.
When Iam styling smaller spaces, I stack items on top of each other, pair short and tall pieces, and add decorative pieces to chairs.
Use themed Christmas trees
Because I canat limit myself to one Christmas tree, or one style of tree decor, I put a Christmas tree in every room in my home. I use smaller, less expensive trees in smaller room. This year, my tree decor ranged from glamorous silver and gold to a contemporary tree with black ornaments.
I wish you and yours a very happy Holiday season! Happy decorating!
