How to Cook Instant Pot Stewed Turkey Necks

One of my favorite meals that always makes me feel like home is stewed turkey necks. I love them served over rice and think it is a great option for a Sunday dinner with family and friends. If you have never had them or don’t know how to make them yourselves, I got help from Rashaunda Grant of Carolina Cookery. Check out this easy recipe for How to Cook Instant Pot Stewed Turkey Necks and add it to your Sunday dinner menu.

¼ cup celery, diced

1 tsp minced garlic

2 tbsp seasoned salt

1 bay leaf

1 sprig fresh thyme

2 tbsp olive oil

3 cups Turkey or Chicken broth

2 tbsp corn starch

2 tbsp cold water

Directions:

Season turkey necks with seasoned salt and set aside

Set Electric Pressure cooker to sauté and add oil. Once hot add seasoned turkey necks and sear on each side for 3-5 mins, then remove from pot.

Add carrots, onion, celery, garlic and sauté for 5 mins until onions are slightly translucent and garlic is fragrant.

Return turkey necks to the pressure cooker, and add thyme, bay leaf and broth.

Change settings from sauté to meat/stew function and cover with pressurized lid. Cook for 30 minutes and then vent to release steam.

In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water and mix thoroughly to form a slurry.

Add slurry to pot of stewed turkey necks and simmer for 10 mins until liquid becomes thickened gravy.

Serve over rice or potatoes and enjoy!
