What is the most challenging professional obstacle you have had?

Definitely keeping up with the schedule for blogging. It is harder than one may think when you also work full time!

Why did you start blogging?

I actually had some free time during the summer after my engagement. I was also on the hit show “Say Yes to the Dress” and wanted to share my experience because it was so much fun. From there, I knew I could make blogging a real thing. I wanted a place to write and share my love for beauty products and new outfits.

What has been your favorite topic to blog about?

Nothing so far! That’s the beauty (no pun intended) of it, that I get to choose what I write about.

Who is your favorite character on a “Different World”?

It is a toss up between Whitley and Dwayne 🙂 My husband told me after we started getting serious that I reminded him of Whitley! Such a great show.

What was your favorite thing about growing up in Virginia?

The change of seasons. Fall was especially my favorite. It was so beautiful every year.

What do you love about living in Florida?

I love that it is a place that everyone wants to come visit! I also love that there is so much to do and you don’t have to worry about shoveling snow.

As  recent bride, what advice would you give a southern bride planning a wedding?

My advice would be to keep it small, pay attention to detail on the things that you really care about, and don’t freak out about the other stuff you’re not as picky about. I would also advise brides to not be so adamant about having a formal wedding portrait session. That is a southern thing, and I was perplexed about whether to do it or not. I ended up just asking my photographer if I could just set aside 5-10 minutes during our photos at the wedding for my portraits and he was happy to oblige.

What is your favorite southern dish?

My favorite southern dish is hands down southern style green beans.

What is some of the best advice your mom gave you?

Save your money.

If you could do any job, what would that be?

Wow, that is a great question. I think that I am still in the process of figuring that out as I teach full time and also blog now. Both of those jobs are actually very fulfilling. But, if I had to choose one job, I think that it would working for a fashion magazine as a style or beauty editor or expert. I love choosing ideas and inspiration for the new seasons, and giving tips for combining high priced items and low priced items to make a great outfit.

Who do you wish you could meet?

President Barack Obama. I would love to meet him and have a chance just to talk to him! He is so inspirational to so many and as a young African American he makes so many of us believe that you truly can do anything. No excuses.

What advice would you give your younger college self?

I would tell my younger college self to be mindful of who you are friends with. I would tell myself to continue to have fun because that’s what college is all about! I would tell myself to be a little more focused on the classes you take and choosing your major. I would also tell myself to stop eating so much bread.
