How did you meet? While I was still in college and staying with my parents in NC over the summer, my sister encouraged me to make an online profile on a website so that I could at the least make a few friends down here while I was visiting over the summer. I waited to make my profile until I was finished with my summer classes in Michigan and was about to head down to NC for the summer. The morning after I made my profile, Charles was the first person in my inbox and he was so polite, greeting me with a a?Good Morning Miss.a? Weave talked every day since June 1st, 2013, started dating on June 17th, 2013, and got married May 6th, 2017. a??

How long did you date? We dated for two and a half years before becoming engaged on November 18th, 2015.

How did he propose? Charles proposed in our home on his birthday after the homemade steak dinner I made him. He said that planned on proposing that Saturday when we went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (our yearly tradition), but he said there was something that felt right and natural in that moment on Wednesday, November 18th. I couldnat have asked to be proposed in a more a?usa? and perfect way. a??

When did you know he was the one? I knew he was the one after our first summer of dating. We loved each others company and enjoyed being able to get to know each other that summer. We realized that we would no longer be interested in anyone else and only wanted to focus on building our relationship.

What is the cutest thing he has done for you without you asking? I love how many genuine kisses he gives me daily and how frequently he tells me why he loves me!

What is something you love about him that has completely changed your life? Something I love about Charles is how genuine he is. He always makes me feel excited to come home to him after a long day, he always makes me feel good about myself, and he can always put a smile on my face even when I wasnat in the mood to smile.

What part of wedding planning made you crazy? The biggest challenge during the wedding planning process was having to find a new wedding venue four months from our wedding date because our original venue was suddenly going out of business!

What part of wedding planning could you not live without? My wedding planner. Epic Event Planning made sure our timeline was precise, took care of so many behind the scenes details, and made sure I was remaining sane throughout the whole wedding planning process!

What was your first thought the day after your engagement? I canat believe I get to spend the rest of my life with Charles. How lucky am I?!

What was your favorite part about the ceremony? Walking down the aisle with my father and meeting Charles at the end of the altar.

What was your favorite part about the wedding? One of the top highlights from the reception was everyone on the dance floor belting out one of my favorite jams, Bohemian Rhapsody, with me!

Did you do any DIY? Our table numbers were made out of wooden blocks, and I painted them all lilac to match our wedding colors.

What were your wedding colors? Lilac and light gray

What was your wedding theme? —

What is your favorite part about being married to each other? Our favorite part about being married to each other is being able to make each other laugh everyday for the rest of our lives.

What did you learn about each other through the wedding planning process? I learned that Charles is a very patient man (already knew that, but he proved it even more!) and Charles learned that I can be indecisive when I have to make a lot of decisions.

What southern traditions did you do at your wedding? One southern tradition that we did at our wedding was that all the men in the wedding party wore light colored suits. Also, sweet tea and Cheerwine where a part of our drink menu because of their southern roots (a lot of our family members are from the north).

Did you have any southern food on your menu?A We didnat necessarily have southern styled food, but we did serve our dinner buffet style so that guests could mingle while quickly getting their food.

What southern decor did you include in your wedding? My whole wedding venue was could be considered dAcor on its own since it was at a botanical garden.

What did you love about being a southern bride? I love being a southern bride because I loved how I was able to have my wedding at a beautifully blooming botanical garden. I also loved how classic and elegant my wedding felt and I loved that I was able to incorporate southern elements to my wedding for our northern family members to appreciate.
