What is your favorite thing about being a mom?
Seeing my sons growth, his development and knowing I am apart of that.
What do you love about raising your children in the South?
The ease and calm of the south.
What are some of their favorite southern dishes to eat? Which do they only eat if you make?
Grits, biscuits and oatmeal, our son loves breakfast food. Garrison loves my oatmeal.
Why did you choose this location to do the family photo shoot?
This location is the perfect backdrop to our lives in Knoxville…tranquil and calm. There are so many amazing scenic places in this city! Fall here is all about bonfires and football…and everything pumpkin!
What are your favorite lessons to teach your children?
As a parent our responsibility is to raise a well rounded child to become a well rounded adult. Cause and effect, decision make on the simplest things like snacks and toys will build his confidence and teach him to trust his decision making ability.
What is your favorite southern activity to do with them?
Spending quality time outside, traveling and reading. Our bedtime routine is such a highlight to my day!

Who styled the children for this shoot?
I did, I hear a lot of moms saying that boys are hard to dress…I beg to differ! I have a blast dressing my son…the options are endless!
What southern values do you hope they inherit as they grow up?
Manners, being polite, kind and always putting God first.
What advice did you get from your mother on parenting?
Don’t let anyone steal your joy…including me! This has stuck with me the most in my life. Life is about living, sorrow comes but joy is always!
