There is nothing like getting ready for the New Year and showing your HBCU pride. I am proud to be an Evite Influencer and showcase some of my favorites Last Minute NYE Tips a HBCU Party Inspiration Presented by Evite. This holiday season, Evite and Black Southern Belles wants to celebrate creative ways that even procrastinators can get together. We have gathered tips that even the busiest Black Southern Belle can do on the fly that will channel her inner Whitley Gilbert.
Last Minute NYE Tips – HBCU Party Inspiration Presented by Evite
1)INVITES
As much as a Black Southern Belle loves a paper invite, sometimes we just donat have the time. Between work, family, friends and sleep, there are not enough hours in the day. With the help of Eviteas Mobile App and Text Messaging Invite system you can make sure your guests get their invite ASAP and respond as soon as possible. All you have to do is download the app, pick your favorite invite (mine had to have a little glitter and glam), and add your contacts. With everyone getting so many emails during the holiday season the text invite is the perfect way to get a hold of those friends who may not be so great with email (usually the same folks who somehow forgot to RSVP to your wedding on time as well). AYou can send out invites while you wait for your car to get fixed or during your lunch break at work, and it is easy to follow up with those folks need a little nudge to RSVP as well. Be sure to download the Evite Mobile and start planning your party on the fly!
2)FOOD & BEVERAGE
No matter little planning is involved for a southern party you must have food and for a NYE you must have the southern trifecta, collard greens, ham and black eyed peas. To save you some time and energy, we suggest using your favorite canned or takeout version of these foods and creating a unique southern inspired NYE sandwich. You can keep it simple by making a few Abefore the party and then letting your guests create their own based on their food and diet preferences as they arrive. When it comes to drinks, champagne and sparkling cider is a must, add a few drops of frozen fruit for a simple cocktail your guests will love. You canat forget desserts and pecans are king in the South. A pre-made dessert from your local grocery store place in golden cupcake holders will do just the trick. All of these ideas require no real cooking or drink mixing skills and only require you to have a good time with your friends to prepare for the New Year and brag about who went to the best HBCU.
3)DECOR
Black Southern Belle women love a well decorated party even if we only have a few minutes to get it together. We also love monogramming and our alma maters. If you are looking to add some HBCU pride to your NYE Eve decor, we suggest purchasing a few packs of stickers, white labels and gel pens to add the initials of your alma mater as well as those of your guests. For our party, we added some HBCU fun on our champagne bottle, party favor bags and napkins. If you donat have time to get stickers, you can print these letters off on your computer or use your penmanship skills or even wait for your guests to arrive and create an HBCU decorating contest where the best decor gets a bottle of champagne to take home.
Here in the South we never pass up on an excuse to throw a stylish soiree and a Black Southern Belle always loves to show her HBCU pride (Howard University!) And thanks to Evite you plan those gatherings with minimal effort and spend mores time making memories with your friends and family.
