February 22 & 23—10th annual Bands Brews & BBQ Festival in Port Royal

Beaufort’s outdoor festival season is right around the corner and starts with the 10th annual Bands Brews & BBQ event in Port Royal. Enjoy two days of food, music and fun with wings, barbecue, craft beers, live music and kids’ activities on Friday and Saturday, February 22nd & 23rd hosted by the Port of Port Royal.

May 24-26—Gullah Festival

Taking place annually during Memorial Day weekend, the original Gullah Festival happens in the historic waterfront park in the middle of downtown Beaufort. Started in 1986, the three-day festival celebrates the African American Gullah heritage in the Lowcountry and is designed for families who love live music, educational activities, authentic food and entertainment.

Jan. 31-Feb. 28 — 23rd Annual Hilton Head Island Gullah Celebration

A month-long celebration showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Gullah people and their history on Hilton Head Island with art exhibitions, gospel concerts, festivals, tours, lectures and more.

May 4—Shark tooth frenzy in Port Royal

Chambers Waterfront Parks that overlooks the glistening Beaufort River, mystical inner coastal waters and marsh islands. Hit up the fireworks show that kicks off the festival or sip on a refreshment while listening to live music (on the water and off) starting July 12 through July 21.

October 25, 26 & 27—Fall Festival of House and Gardens

If you have always wanted to step inside Beaufort’s beautiful antebellum historic homes, now is your chance. This three-day event starting October 25-27 features tours of private, historic homes, gardens and plantations that are typically private throughout the year, until now. The houses represent three centuries of early American architecture, history and more.

Early November 2019—Pat Conroy Literary Festival

Book lovers—this one’s for you. The third annual Pat Conroy Literary Festival in early November will celebrate three major themes central to Conroy’s writing life that shaped southern literature and culture: faith, family and friendship.
