Foodies have created #foodporn and #foodgasm just to describe how great these dishes look. Whenever I’m in the mood to see delicious food or get inspiration for my next meal, I pull out my phone. Food photography is one the newest trends picking up on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and other social media. Are you looking for more inspiration in your southern kitchen? I found this bowl of flavor scrolling on one of my favorite foodie pages, @blackchefsnetwork. They were featuring another black chef making a beautiful recreation of a southern favorite. Check out his Seafood Gumbo featuring those gorgeous crawfish and crab.A�

When you mix lobsterA�and macaroni and cheese, what could possibly go wrong? Here are two pictures of delicious lobster macaroni and cheese. The first is Chef Courtney Harris’ Lobster Mac & Cheese and the next is Chef Southerntemp more gourmet version. Mac & cheese is my absolute favorite soulfood dish, so adding lobster is brilliant!

Shrimp and grits has the SOUTH written all over it. This creative rendition of the dish is Shrimp and Cinnamon Sweet Potato Grits with bacon bits. I would love to add this recipe to a brunch menu paired with a mimosa.A�

There is something that cast iron skillet that definitely brings back memories of southern cooking. This chef created a Crab Dip with Italian Bread to dip. The cheese is toasted to perfection on top and I am sure that it tastes just as good as it looks!

This is a healthier choice then the previous choices. But take a look at this SearedA�Scallop Salad. I’m not a big fan of beets but this salad sure does make them look delicious.A�

Chef Southerntemp created this Lump Crab Stuffed Prawns and Wild Brown Rice. It nicely plated and definitely making my mouth water.A�

I thought that these fun Shrimp Wantons offered a new look at southern cooking. Shrimp wantons are not A�your average dish that you could find in a southern seafood dish but this chef surely made them look great!

Chef Southerntemp keeps up his creativity in plating with this Lump Crab Cake, Manchego Grits, & Jalapeno Garlic Sauce.A�

This is a traditional technique done to almost anything caught on our southern shores. Battered and fried to a golden crisp. Here is one of my favorites, Lemon Pepper and Cajun Fried Crab. The butter on the side just made the picture that much more of a tease.
