The Couple’s Story

Chris and I worked together at the same company for many years, 8 to be exact. We both were in relationships at the time, so we’ve never paid attention to one another. One day I was invited out to the comedy house with a co-worker and her husband, and they also invited Chris…ha. We talked briefly afterwards, but nothing came out of it. The following year, 2012, on Cinco de Mayo, I went to a party with my girl Jill. Guess who was there? Chris. That night had a lot going on, so much, that I refuse to go into detail, but lets say, he caught my eyes and held my attention. On Monday, I mentioned this to Mrs. Ann, who tried to play matchmaker before, so she got my number, gave me his number. Chris didn’t call soon enough for me, so I called him and we went out to dinner the following week, then out to bowl with co-workers that same week, and we’ve pretty much been inseparable since! Chris and I went to Pawley’s Island, S.C. for a weekend to meet some family members on my father’s side and to enjoy the beach; Cain and Amelia Wilson Family Reunion. On the night of the Gala, Chris spoke with my father outside the Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort, where he asked for my hand in marriage. Later on that night we drove down to North Myrtle Beach, and had a little fun at Broadway at the beach. Afterwards, we drove down to the strip, and walked along the shore, and later stopped, sat, and talk! While looking out at the waves, Chris began to express how much he loved me and how he couldn’t imagined life without me…after a few more terms of endearment between the two of us, Chris told me that he had something to ask me. I got up, turned around, and there he was on one knee! I was so shocked, that I kept repeating, are you serious, are you serious (again and again), LOL. After getting over my shock, I said yes. The first few minutes, I just kept looking at him, then my ring, at him, then my ring. Once we made it back to the car, reality hits, and I began to cry…this will always be a night/morning that I’m sure we both will remember! My mom lives about two hours away, and it isn’t easy to drop everything, so, my soon to be husband has played a huge part in helping to plan this special day. He helped with the cake, the flowers, the decorations, the venue, the DJ, et cetera…I can truly say that I am one lucky gal! Our theme is lantern and burlap…simple and beautiful
