Southern Home Decor: How To Add Art To Your Home Like an Artist Inspired by The Color Teil

I absolutely adore adding art to my home. Whether it is an addition to a gallery wall or a new piece for my bedroom, it brings me so much happiness. With the help of artist, Teil Duncan, we get a mini-tour of her clients’ gorgeous homes and release of her new book, The Color Teil.

The Color Teil chronicles Teil’s artistic journey, displaying over three hundred full-color images of her work. Her studies range from figure drawings and animals to beach and pool scenes. Inspiration comes in all sizes and shapes for Teil. Throughout this book, readers will become better acquainted with both the artist, as a person, and the art she creates. It is a vibrant, colorful journey that can only be described as: The Color Teil.
Teil launched her newest series of beach scenes earlier this month and they sold out in a matter of minutes, however she has prints (which range from $90-$150) that are still available on her website.

Check out these gorgeous spaces and get inspired for your own home!

Create a Vignette with Color: Use inspiration from the colors in your art to create a styled area of your favorite decor pieces. It is a great way to anchor a storage unit or hallway table.

Add a Point of Interest for Inspiration: If you have a room full of neutrals, a painting is a great way to add style and design to your room. Wall art is a great way to add playfulness with color to a kids room or nursery and even a ladies lounge.

Create a Gallery Wall: Don’t be afraid to mix frames, styles, and sizes for a gallery. Just pick some of your favorites that represent who you are and arrange them in a way that works for the area of a room or wall you want to showcase.

Go Big or Go Home: For a large space such as a family room or dining room, large pieces of art make a great anchor for a wall. You can treat them as an accent wall of art.
