Themed Bridal Showers

Themed Bridal Showers

If you have been given the task of planning a bridal shower, let me say “Bravo”! This task has the potential to  be really fun and easy if you decide a to go with a theme. I know, I know it sounds cheesy but give me a minute. Choosing a theme has its benefits like being easy on your budget, decor choices and the menu. A themed  bridal shower can also benefit your guests, in some instances it can take the guesswork out of what to buy. For example, when my bridal shower was given, a room of the house was chosen, which was the kitchen. In turn, people bought items that I could use in the kitchen and along with a recipe to put in a book as a keepsake. Below you will find three themes to give you an idea of the possible magic that could be created:

  1. Slumber Party- Well this shower theme, could go in more than one way. For example, your guests could come in their favorite pajamas or loungewear. Guests could stay up all night and binge watch a favorite sitcom or movie. The food could include bottomless popcorn, finger foods, dips and candy. The alternative to this type of shower would include a party with novelty items..ahem…that would keep that FIYAH burning long after the honeymoon.
  2. Mascara and Mimosas- The last time I checked there is nothing like a good mascara and a well-chilled, perfectly mixed Mimosa. The menu for this type of shower could include brunch items from danishes, fresh fruit, lots of thick sliced bacon ( I am a Southern girl, so it’s very necessary), hashbrown casserole and maybe even a grits bar. As a favor for your guests you could offer mini mascaras, presented with a cute little bow or in a bag.
  3. Glam-B-Q- Good barbecue and burnt hot dogs are what good cookouts are made of in my book. The decor could include sequin linens with a printed napkin for a bold statement or monochromatic look for something more simple. The most important to remember is to make sure you include some sparkle and shine. The menu for this theme could include barbecue, burnt hot dogs, grilled chicken, salads to please varying palettes, a signature drink and of course something sweet! I vote for peach cobbler!

These are just examples of how to work a themed bridal shower. Research, mix, match and think outside of the box, I know you will come up with something epic!
