Are you a Black Southern Belle transport living in a big city like DC, New York or Chicago and tight on space? Whether you are living in a modern condo or sharing an apartment, you can still add your classic style to your home. With the help of Ave Home Furniture, we have some Tips for Adding Classic Style to a Modern Condo. Their furniture line is a great addition to any home and is perfect for a Black Southern Belle living a city life.
Tips for Adding Classic Style to a Modern Condo:
Mix old and new. Instead of trying to force a modern space to feel traditional, use a mix of contemporary and traditional pieces for a collected look that feels natural. We love pairing our Regent Trumeau Mirror with our more modern Chloé Burl Console.
Add modern fabrics to more traditional furniture, and vice versa. This is an easy way to make a classic upholstered piece feel more current.
You can’t go wrong with a beautiful area rug or a classic chandelier. Traditional lighting, rugs and accessories can be easily incorporated into a space with more modern elements.
Look for traditional pieces with untraditional finishes. Our AVE Raw line includes some great neo-classical pieces that feel more casual because of their natural wood finish and work well in modern spaces. A painted or lacquered finish can also work well in more contemporary spaces.
Stick to a consistent color palette. This will make it easier to mix styles and create a cohesive look.
