How did you meet?
Spoken word group at UNC
How long did you date?
8 years
What was your first thought the day after your engagement?
Just thinking about how blessed I was, and how excited I was to be arriving in Maui with my HUSBAND!
What was your favorite part about the ceremony?
Walking down the aisle with my Dad. The moment you often dream about had finally arrived.
What was your favorite part about the wedding?
The vows and the reception. Being able to make a promise to God and my husband in front of my closest family and friends, and partying hard afterwards was the best.
Did you do any DIY?
I found poems to act as our table names, and had each poem printed and framed on the tables. We also had a very close family friend make the broom we jumped.
What were your wedding colors?
Blush Pink and Champagne Gold
What was your wedding theme?
Classic Southern Romance
What is your favorite part about being married to each other?
We thoroughly enjoy one another’s company! Every day is that much more fun and exciting to know you have someone forever in your corner. Despite being together 9 years, we continue to learn new things about one another, and grow together as husband and wife.
What did you learn about each other through the wedding planning process?
It’s OK if both of you aren’t into every aspect of the wedding planning. At a certain point we learned what to let go of and allow the other person to be the lead on, and trusting what we know about one another to make the best decisions possible. I realized my husband wasn’t going to have much to say about whether our plates were gold trimmed or not, and that was just fine.
