How did you meet?
Matthew and I actually met online ( I know…. I know…). It was on old social media site before facebook( no not myspace) lol. He sent me several messages and after the 4th message and actually going through his profile, I finally decided to email him back. We exchanged numbers and talked on the phone for awhile. I was still kind of hesitant to meet him just because of all the horror stories I’ve heard. So I told my good friend about him and where he worked and we decided to do a “drive by” to see if he really was the person he said he was. Matthew told me that he was a cook at a local sports bar and that I should come by sometime to see him, so I did come by, but he just didn’t know it! I asked the waitress if he worked there, and she said “ yea he’s in the back, want me to get him?. That’s when I started freaking out! Thank God my friend drove with me. I told the waitress to just have him come to the kitchen door, but don’t tell him I’m there. Well of course he comes and I’m like OMG, he’s really really cute. So the week after that I finally agreed to meet him at the mall, and it’s been history ever since!
How long did you date?
We dated 5 years
How did he propose?
Well… being the person that I am, I ruined my proposal and the surprise. I knew he already had the ring, but I didn’t give him a chance So he just gave me the ring. There’s no exciting story but the morning after my ruined proposal he took the ring back, made me breakfast in bed, got down on one knee and I said yes!
When did you know he was the one?
I knew he was the one when he took my son and I out on a date to a basketball game and paid more attention to my son than me. He acted as if it was our son and not just mine, and I knew right then and there this was it.
What is the cutest thing he has done for you without you asking?
I went to work and forgot my lunch and he drove all the way to my job, leaves a note on my desk telling me, “you forgot your lunch so here is some money, you need to find a closer job!” and left flowers. (we lived 30mins away from my job). I had a smile on my face the entire day.
What is something you love about him that has completely changed your life?
He took the time to show me that love still exist and it’s ok to let things fall apart sometimes. Not everything has to be perfect,
What part of wedding planning made you crazy?
The guest list. I never realized how much people wanted to be apart of our lives until it was time to send out invites
What part of wedding planning could you not live without?
Tasting the food. I love to eat, so it was a must that we had good food.
What was your favorite part about the ceremony?
My grandfather aka “the bishop” being the officiant. I’ve always heard about him speaking at other weddings, but to have him stand there and join us in union made me even more appreciative of his love for me.
What was your favorite part about the wedding?
Of course dancing and celebrating with all of our family and friends. the there was our sweets table.
Did you do any DIY? If so, what?
Oh gosh no Im not a DIY girl. I wish I could be but I had an idea in my head , told my coordinator and she made it happen!

What is your favorite part about being married to each other?
We complete each other and he balances me out.
What did you learn about each other through the wedding planning process?
He doesn’t like planning anything and easily hands over his debit card. I learned that if I hire someone to do something, just let them do it, and it was less stress on me the day of the wedding.
