How long did you date?
We dated for 5 ½ years before marrying.
How did he propose?
Corey planned a surprise proposal which included a beautiful photo-shoot across our Alma Mater’s campus. He made me think we were helping our photographer friend with her final exam project, and he proposed during what I believe to be the last shot. Surprisingly when I turned around all of our family and friends were behind us to celebrate.
When did you know he was the one?
I knew Corey was the one when I realized I could open up to him and feel the same comfort I do when I talk with my daddy.
What is the cutest thing he has done for you without you asking?
He sang me his own version of “Love” by Musiq Soulchild and posted it on Youtube. He is not a great singer which made it even more special.
What is something you love about him that has completely changed your life?
He treats me with respect and reminds me daily of my worth and value to him.

Deciding who and who not to invite.
What part of wedding planning could you not live without?
Planning my brooch bouquet design.

Walking down the aisle seeing Corey, along with all our loved ones.
What was your favorite part about the wedding?
Finding out where we were going on our honeymoon at the reception- it was a surprise!
Did you do any DIY? If so, what?
Yes, I made our flower girl baskets, Corey made all the bowties, and my daddy made our cupcake tower.

Holy Communion, Unity Cross, and Pearls
Did you have any southern food on your menu? If so what and why?
Though we had cupcakes for our main dessert, we ordered a pineapple pound cake for our cutting. I ordered it because it is one of my favorites and a cake my family has at all events.
What southern decor did you include in your wedding?
We included lace, tulle, pearls, brooches, greenery, and beautiful peony florals.
What did you love about being a southern bride?
Having both of our huge families all together in one place to celebrate our love!
