There is something special about a Louisiana wedding and a Bayou Belle Bride. We are not sure if it is the food, the scenery or the great couples but Chynna and Zacchaeus had all of that and at their lovely Bayou wedding. We are sooo excited to feature these two and we are sure you will love reading about their wedding and their love story!
Bride Name: Chynna Christopher
Groom Name: Zacchaeus Reddix
Wedding Location: Elegant Affairs, Gonzales, LA
Wedding Date: March 14, 2015
Current City where you live: Baton Rouge, La
Hometown: Baton Rouge, LA
How did you meet? That’s a funny story. Zac’s aunt hooked us up after noticing we were both single.
How long did you date? We dated for 2 years
How did he propose? First he took me out to eat at Texas de Brazil. Afterwards, we walked back to the car and when we made it to the top of the parking garage, he proposed by asking me to change my Facebook status to engaged. At first, I was very caught off guard but I realized what was going on when he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him.
When did you know he was the one? I knew he was the one from our first date. I never experienced a guy that was such a gentleman.
What is the cutest thing he has done for you without you asking? I had a business trip to go on, and unfortunately I didn’t have any luggage. He picked me up from work and took me straight to the store and bought me luggage. He had no clue I didn’t have luggage. He told me, “My baby has to fly in style.”
What is something you love about him that has completely changed your life? I love that he is such a hard worker. He goes above and beyond to be the best at what he does. And seeing him push himself has made me want more in my own life.
What part of wedding planning is making you crazy? Believe it or not, my wedding planning was simple. I had a couple of stress points but I made sure to keep backup plans if thing didn’t go the right way.
What part of wedding planning can you not live without? I couldn’t live without PINTEREST! I made a huge wedding board. I pinned so many photos. That way I could share my ideas with my vendors clearly.
What was your first thought the day after your engagement? I was really emotional, nervous, and hopeful. AT THE SAME TIME! It was like a whirlwind of things. I just could only think about my future (leaving home, becoming a wife, and having kids).
What was your favorite part about the ceremony? My favorite part of the ceremony was when we poured our unity sand. The meaning behind the sand was powerful. Knowing we are like grains of sand and never to be separated.
What was your favorite part about the wedding? Cutting our cake! It was so good!
Did you do any DIY? If so, what? I actually bought a ring bearer and flower girl “purse” that didn’t match my wedding colors. So I purchased some matte satin fabric to match my wedding colors. I just sewed the fabric over the original design.

What is your favorite part about being married to each other? Well we kept our engagement very traditional. We didn’t live together. So moving in and learning each other on a higher level has been awesome. Just waking up and he is there make every day awesome.
What did you learn about each other through the wedding planning process? We both learned that we want each other to be happy. He wants me to smile just as much as I want him to.
Nothing screams southern wedding like classic colors and a classic wedding dress. Lucky for us, Chynna had that all covered for us! This love story is a great way to start off our Monday! We wish this couple joy and happiness for many years to come.
