HBCU Spotlight: Belles of Bennett College from the Past

We adore HBCUs and today we are highlighting Greensboro, NC-based, Bennett College. This university is the quintessential school for the Black Southern Belle and has such a rich history, both past and present. The mission of Bennett College is to “prepare women of color through a transformative liberal arts education to lead with purpose, integrity, and a strong sense of self-worth. Bennett provides educational access to students while promoting inquiry, civic engagement, social justice, lifelong learning, and equity for all.” Today we are honored to highlight this HBCU that was also tantamount to the success of the Greensboro Sit-Ins, Civil Rights moment, growth of North Carolina and the development of modern women today.

Michiel Perry

Michiel is a Black Southern Belle living a lowcountry life. I love all things fashion, home decor and southern! When I am not running around doing fun stuff for Black Southern Belle, I live in antique stores and have a minor obsession with historic homes 🙂
