Nothing can be finer than to be in Carolina in the morning, except to be there for a southern wedding. Today we are bringing a traditional South Carolina wedding. Kayla and Kent are a South Carolina bred couple we wed this spring in the bride’s hometown of Summerville, SC. We are excited to feature this couple and share their story with you. Take some time out of your day to enjoy some southern love!

How did you meet?
We met at a party through a mutual friend(Arielle). We had no idea that she knew us separately. We just happened to be standing opposites sides of her and it clicked to her that we needed to exchange numbers right then, at that moment. She snatched our phones and made us exchange numbers and threatened that she would end our friendships with her lol. Surprisingly Myron texted me the next day and we have never stopped since then.
How long did you date?
A month after meeting each other, my job moved me a hour away but that didn’t stop us from getting to know each other. After 6 months, we decided to make it official. 2 years later, Myron proposed.
How did he propose?
We were in the process of closing on our house when right before we did the inspection, he met me outside of the house with his stepmom and before we walked back in together he said he felt that we should get this house has husband and wife and got on his knee and proposed!
When did you know he was the one?
When we officially started dating. The first 6 months of getting to know each other really showed me of what a gentleman and genuine good guy was suppose to be like. He has treated me like a Queen since the first day.
What is the cutest thing he has done for you without you asking?
Cooked and set up a candlelight dinner when I got home from work for Valentine’s Day.
What is something you love about him that has completely changed your life?
His trust and honesty. He makes me feel like I never have to worry about a thing when he is around me. I feel safe with him.

The extra long guest list!
What part of wedding planning could you not live without?
Dress shopping with my mom and sisters
What was your first thought the day after your engagement?
I’m really about to get married!! I can’t believe it!
What was your favorite part about the ceremony?
Seeing him smiling when I walked down the aisle.
What was your favorite part about the wedding?
Everything. The feeling of being there. It was perfect! Even started on time lol
Did you do any DIY?
Yes, we made the ribbon wands all by hand together.
What were your wedding colors?
Purple teal and grey
What was your wedding theme?
What is your favorite part about being married to each other?
Knowing that we will be together forever. Being with your crush and best friend forever.
What did you learn about each other through the wedding planning process?
